The "normal" font on the 1150 is, indeed, a smaller point size than the "normal" font on the larger screen 1200. As the "large/zoom" font is smaller on the small device. This was driven by a desire to, by default, get a more "reasonable" amount of text on the smaller screen
-- one can certainly debate this decision.
These however, are just the default fonts for the particular zoom state - there are a number of embedded larger fonts available on the devices that can the specified if coding your own content using the eBook publisher tool.
Attached inline below is an OEBPS document example that, when built for each device (or previewed), will show all of the embedded fonts -- you can then code any personal content to hit the desired font. Note that when zoomed up, the device chooses a font "two chunks" larger than normal -- thus "x-small"
in normal will be "medium" in zoom/larger
-- when you hit the top size for a particular font/style/weight combination, you stay there. Also note that not all combinations specified below generate unique fonts presentations (e.g. "smallfont" is always small and the sans-serif fonts are all a semi-bold weight).
Two other things: when using eBook Publisher, what you see in the "1/2 VGA Grayscale" preview is exactly what you will see on an 1150, and what you see in the "Color VGA" preview is exactly what you will see on an 1200 -- the tools have and use the device font sets.
